Monday 12/28..... must qualify on Sunday to wrestle on Monday... no transportation

Red Raiders Host New Bedford Tuesday Night
Barnstable vs New Bedford in a D1 South dual meet on Tuesday 12/22 at 6pm
The Red Raiders will look to keep pace in their division as they face a very talented rival..Please come and support the Team!!!
Also please note the following practice schedule change during the Holiday break... The team will be practicing on Saturday, 12/26 from 9am to 11am and Wednesday 12/30 from 9am to 11am ... They will not have practice on New Years Eve...

The 3-2 Red Raiders will Host Braintree, Mansfield and Brockton this Saturday 12/19 at 10 AM
Barnstable hopes to gain some ground on 3 of their D1 South opponents..These Matches become all that more important for seeding at the Sectionals in February

The Team has been working very hard, and the season will start off this Saturday 12/12 as the Red Raiders travel to Bristol Aggie for an 8 team tournament..
The Bus leaves at 6am from BHS
BHS has a first round (9am) bye and will start wrestling in the 2nd round at aprox 10:30 all parents and fans are welcome to attend click here for directions Bristol Aggie

Captains named
Casey Connor, Alex Lopes and Mike Bertucci Named 2015 BHS Wrestling Captains
Head Coach Peter Bertucci announced this week that seniors Casey Connor and Mike Bertucci as well as Junior Alex Lopes will serve as team captains of the 2015 Barnstable High School Red Raiders wrestling team. these young men were voted to be this year’s team leaders through the overwhelming support of their teammates.

Captain Casey Connor
Casey, started wrestling for coach Mark Barrett for the Barnstable youth program in the 4th grade, he has been a member of the BHS Wrestling team since the 8th grade, he has wrestled in several weight classes including 106, 113 and 126. He is looking forward to helping all of the young wrestlers, just as the past year's captain's have done for him!
While wrestling as a Red Raider, Casey has proved himself as a top 10 state ranked wrestler in his weight class. His accomplishments include: 2 Time OCL all-star. All Cape and Islands 1st team and In his Junior year at 126 lbs. he was the Division 1 South Sectional Champion and he placed 7th at the Division 1 State Tournament. Casey is a multi-season athlete, he is an accomplished distance runner in both X country and track. He served as a Captain this season for the BHS Red Raiders X country team.
Casey has huge goals this season and hopes to be standing on the podium at this years Division 1 State Tournament as well as the All State tournament!
Casey plans on attending college in the Fall of 2016 where he hopes to wrestle and run track while studying Business, Marketing and Entrepreneurship
Casey is the son of Dan and Chris Connor of Cotuit.
Captain Mike Bertucci
Mike, Started wrestling for BHS in 7th grade, He has also wrestled in many weight classes including 160, 170, 182 and 195. Mike brings plenty of experience to the team with his extensive Judo and wrestling background. He will be a big help to the younger upper weight wrestlers
Off the mat, Mike is a proud member of the French National Honor Society as well as a Color Guard and PIT for the BHS Marching Band
Mike would like to attend college in the Fall and study Film and Directing
Mike is the son of June and Peter Bertucci of Hyannis.
Captain Alex Lopes
Alex started his wrestling career in the 7th grade at Mt. Greylock High School in W. Mass. He transferred to BHS last year, as a Sophomore, and has became a huge part of the Red Raiders success. Alex took 5th place last year at the D-1 South sectional tournament. He will bring the Red Raiders stability and leadership as well as being a cornerstone for next season's team
Alex is also a multi-sport athlete.. he has been playing football since the 7th grade and played for the BHS JV team this season as a Defensive and Offensive lineman
Alex is a present and future leader of the BHS wrestling team!
Alex is the son of Leila and Alex Lopes of Hyannis.

TUESDAY, December 8th at 3pm Dr Davis will be in the wrestling room to conduct weight certifications..DO NOT MISS PRACTICE ON TUESDAY! If you don't get weight certified you cannot wrestle!

The Wrestling season has officially begun, With the first week of practice already under way, the Red Raiders have 26 wrestlers getting ready for a long tough season. The first meet is December 12th at Bristol Aggie High School
