Barnstable Falls to 5-5
Injuries, Ilnesses and Silver Lake to much for Red Raiders
Barnstable loses dual meet to Silverlake 63 to 18
Although there was not very much to cheer about last night ....Barnstable was able to find two bright spots in a dual meet that was all Silver-lake
132 pound eighth grader Drew Valentine stepped up and battled his opponent back-and-forth until he finally got the pin it was an impressive battle especially because Drew was not scheduled to start in the varsity slot.... he stepped up at the last minute and proved that he is A true team player and an up-and-coming wrestler to watch
Senior captain Mike Bertucci also wrestled an impressive match at one point he was down by four points or more and he continued to battle and he also got the pin in the final period
Those two pins and one forfeit were the only points that Barnstable could put together
Barnstable is scheduled to have a rematch against Silverlake at the end of the month at a quad meet...and will be looking for some redemption
Barnstable is hoping to have a full lineup on Saturday when they travel to Sandwich high school for the Cape Cod invitational

Barnstable is hoping that all the injuries and illnesses are behind them and they have a full line up for this weeks competition
Saturday 1/23/16 The Red Raiders Varsity Team will travel to Sandwich H/S (No Bus) for the Cape Cod Invitational
Sunday 1/24/16 The JV team will compete at the Cape Cod JV Invitational at Sandwich H/S (No Bus)

Barnstable has 2 place winners in the Freshman Tournament at Brookline H/S
Mike Stanley (113) goes undefeated and takes 1st place

Barnstable at Weymouth Tournament
Down 3 Wrestlers to Injury and Illness, The Red Raiders take 10th place at Weymouth Tournament
A depleted Red Raiders Team still finds some success :
Barnstable’s Senior Captain Mike Bertucci earned a fourth place medal at the Wildcat Invitational at Weymouth.
Bertucci went 2-2 in the 170-pound weight class to highlight the Red Raiders’ wrestlers in the 11-team event.
Mike Stanley (113) and Vinny Ciliberto (138) each went 2-2 for Barnstable to place fifth in their respective classes. Kyle White (126) was also 2-2 for the Red Raiders while Nate Manuel (152) was 1-3, both finishing sixth

Busy week for the Red Raiders
Barnstable will host the New Bedford Whalers in a Dual meet Thursday 1/14 at 7pm
Varsity Team will travel to Weymouth on Sat. to compete in the Wildcat Tournament
