Last night, we had a great turnout at Winter Sports Night!  It looks like our team will have many new wrestlers this year, so we're excited to see what they can do this season.  Coaches Helman and McWilliams are back, and we have a new mat to use!

Announcements from the wrestling boosters:

• We are selling Rtic cups (similar to Yeti) as a team fundraiser.  The cups are Barnstable red with the B logo engraved on the front.  So far, they seem to be very popular, so order yours while they last!  If you are interested in purchasing one (or more), please email Bonnie Stanley at blaney96@gmail.com.  We expect the shipment to come in just before Thanksgiving.  They make a great Christmas or Hanukkah gift!  Money raised will pay for sweatshirts or jackets for each wrestler, supplies needed by the team, and possibly warm-ups or mat re-conditioning.
  
• We are planning a team-building trip to WPI (Worcester Polytechnical Institute) to watch a wrestling meet there on November 23.  In between the matches, the college wrestlers will come speak with our athletes.  Some of the Barnstable wrestlers met WPI's coach, Matt Oney, at Gene Mills' wrestling camp this summer.  He was very personable and interested in helping wrestlers improve and participate at the next level.  While NCAA rules prevent him from speaking with the high school wrestlers, we would encourage all our athletes to check out the quality of college wrestling and WPI's program.  The quad begins at 11:00, and includes Norwich, Castleton, and Stevens.  The boosters will provide transportation to interested wrestlers.  We'll post more information soon.
